Jewellery isn’t just something we wear—it’s personal. A reflection of your style, your mood, your moments. At GN Jewellery, each piece is designed and handcrafted in London using materials like oxidised silver, concrete, and semi-precious stones. To keep your jewellery looking its best, here’s a simple care guide.
1. Keep it dry
Water and handmade jewellery don’t mix well. Remove your pieces before showering, swimming, washing up, or applying perfume and lotion. Moisture and chemicals can damage finishes and dull natural materials over time.
2. Store with care
When you're not wearing your jewellery, store it somewhere dry and safe—ideally in the original box or pouch. Keep oxidised silver away from high-polish pieces to avoid unwanted marks. Less air = less tarnish.
3. Avoid chemicals
No harsh soaps, cleaners, or sprays. Cleaning products, chlorine, saltwater—even hand sanitiser—can affect both metal and stone surfaces. If in doubt, take it off.
4. Clean gently
For silver and metal:
-
Use a soft cloth to wipe it down after wearing.
-
If it needs more, a silver polishing cloth can help—but avoid abrasive cleaners, especially on oxidised areas.
For stone or concrete details:
-
A soft toothbrush and mild soap will do the job.
-
Always dry thoroughly.
Avoid ultrasonic cleaners—they’re not suitable for handmade or mixed-material pieces.
5. Wear it often
Strangely enough, wearing your jewellery helps prevent tarnish. The natural friction of daily wear keeps things shiny. Just remember to take it off when working with water or chemicals.
